Our History 

Richard Bowman & Co Tailor & Clothiers has been among Australia’s premium menswear retailers for over 35 years. 

As the made-to-measure aspect is a growing sector in the men’s suit industry, Richard Bowman & Co Tailor & Clothiers has continued to evolve with it, holding pride of place at our private showroom in the iconic Societe Generale House in Sydney’s CBD. 

Our showroom is the perfect intimate setting for creating a custom suit for any occasion. While our focus is on providing only the highest quality products and services, we are extremely dedicated to building genuine long-term relationships with you, our clients. 

Our Processes

Each client undergoes a unique process here at Richard Bowman & Co Tailor & Clothiers. To create our made-to-measure apparel, we use body measurements to develop specific patterns that are then cut into personalised items. We collaborate with fabric mills from all over the world, including Holland & Sherry in the United Kingdom, Biella, and Loro Piana in Italy, to supply some of the finest cloth and construction on the market. The cloth is cut to size directly from the mill, based on the individual's requirements.

For the convenience of our clients, we also offer a wide range of apparel in the showroom, including Eaton Eaton shirts, Brando shoes, and our in-house brand Richard Bowman & Co Tailor & Clothiers. Our collection offers beautifully designed sports jackets and suits, cut from premium cloth and made in Italy, as well as a wide selection of ties, bowties, cufflinks, and pocket squares. All of our in-house apparel is designed for additional tailoring, which is carried out locally, providing a quick turnaround for a last-minute event.
